Basic

How do I update to the latest OEVIS® version?

Log in to your personal profile on the OE Customer Portal, go to the OEVIS® section and download the desired version installer from the top panel.

I updated OEVIS® to the latest version but when I double-click the .ovprj file, OEVIS® does not run.

Try uninstalling and reinstalling OEVIS®. If you associated manually the ovprj extension to the OEVIS® application, remove the association from the Windows Settings and reinstall OEVIS®.

Warning

Opening a project from Windows Explorer by double-clicking on it, will always open it with the last installed OEVIS® version.

Example: The user installs version 2.0.0, then installs version 2.1.0, the extension association will be paired with the version 2.1.0. Conversely, if the user installs version 2.1.0 and then installs version 2.0.0, the extension association will be paired with the version 2.0.0.

I purchased the OEVIS® Multithreading add-on (OEVIS-A-M) but multithreading functionalities are not available.

The hardware key does not ship with add-ons. In order to activate the purchased add-ons follow the License Upgrade guide.

Acquire

Which cameras are compatible with OEVIS®?

OEVIS® is compatible with all GenTL compliant industrial cameras. For more details, look into the Acquire/Supported Cameras section.

I see the camera in the Acquire tab but I’m unable to connect to it

Usually, machine vision cameras only allow one full access connection at a time. Ensure to disconnect the camera from other consumers before trying to connect to it from OEVIS®.

Why don't I see all the cameras parameters I'm interested in?

Check the User Level setting in the Acquire/Properties panel. If it's set to Beginner, change it to Expert or Guru, depending on the desired access level.

Job

I added some tools to my project but I don’t see any difference on the preview area

Tools inputs and outputs are not automatically added to the preview area. Drag and drop the properties that you want to preview from the property inspector to the desired preview panel to add them to the preview. If necessary, rerun the project to update the preview.

When I try to drag an output to the preview area I get an error that says “inconsistent view type”, how can I see different properties?

Properties have different data types and representations. Not all preview types support all property types. Create different view types in order to accommodate for different data types. Read about the preview area for more information.

Is there an example on how to create a macro?

Yes, you can find it in the macro section.

I created a Macro in my project, is there a way to reuse it with different projects?

You can import and export macros from the macro panel.
